Why our
Net Price Calculator
really is Smarter.
Why not just use the free Net Price Calculator provided by the U.S. Department of Education?
The federal net price calculator compares the student's total "Cost of Attendance", including thousands of dollars in estimated room, board, personal, and transportation expenses, against an estimate of grant funding (not including federal student loans) resulting in a significantly overstated "net-price". This inflated cost estimate makes even the most affordable school seem unattainable for students from low and middle income families.
In fact, this exaggerated "net price" is very likely to convince a student or parent that your school is not affordable before they ever visit the school to learn the actual program costs and their financial aid eligibility. This is particularly problematic at schools serving large numbers of commuter students. So, how much is the "free" government software costing your school - in enrollments?
